Volunteer Moments: A Visual Journey of Our Impactful Work in the bahamas Hurricane dorian in 2019

Colonel Perez and Pastor Moore took on the challenge of placing 7 shipping containers throughout FL for the collection of items to assist the Bahamas relief efforts. Special thank you to "Bronco Transport" for providing free of charge the containers and service.

    Gathering Supplies Throughout Florida

     Hurricane Dorian was an extremely powerful and catastrophic Category 5 Atlantic hurricane, which became the most intense tropical cyclone on record to strike the Bahamas, and is tied with the 1935 Labor Day hurricane for the strongest landfall in the Atlantic basin in terms of maximum sustained winds. The 2019 cyclone is regarded as the worst natural disaster in the Bahamas' recorded history.[1] With winds peaking at 185 mph (295 km/h), it was also one of the most powerful hurricanes recorded in the Atlantic Ocean in terms of 1-minute sustained winds, and the strongest since Wilma in 2005. 

    MCC Brigadier General Arrives in The Bahamas

     Pastor Lewis as the Brigadier General for the Medical Cadets of the Southeastern Conference is in the Bahamas as the supplies are distributed among the residents of the Island. 

    Hurricane Ian made its initial landfall Fort Myers, Florida, on September 28, 2022.

    The Medical Cadets were deployed by FEMA in conjunction with (ACS) Adventist Community Service. we were responsible for managing the warehouse where we receive all the supplies and distribute them.

      On Sept. 28, 2022, Category 4 Hurricane Ian made landfall near Cayo Costa in Lee County, Florida as one of the most powerful storms in U.S. history. Ian brought death and destruction to Fort Myers Beach and Lee County's other barrier islands as deadly storm surge as high as 15 feet was pushed onto land.
